Due to COVID-19, the Rockingham Church is currently closed to visitors. The Friends of the Rockingham Church look forward to reopening it as soon as provincial safety guidelines allow. The grounds and cemetery remain open.

Our 2021 Anniversary Celebration, planned for Sunday, August 8, is cancelled. We hope to see you in 2022!

Meanwhile, starting around 2:00 p.m. on August 9th, we invite you listen to a special spoken-word podcast about John S.J. Watson, founder of Rockingham.

Created by Barry Conway and presented by The Opeongo Readers’ Theatre, The Man from Rockingham explores conflicting accounts of Watson’s origins, his alleged connections to Rockingham Castle, and his arrival in the Valley — as well as his many contributions to developing the area.

If you enjoy visiting the little brown church on the hill, please consider making a donation towards its upkeep, either on our website (through Canada Helps), or by mail. Charitable receipts are issued for all donations.

We look forward to your future visits.
